Estimation of Face Depth Maps from Color Textures using Canonical Correlation Analysis

چکیده
We propose a method for estimating face depth maps from color face images. The method is based on Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA) which exploits the correlation between face color texture and surface depth. The results of experiments conducted on a database of 218 3D scans with corresponding color images show that only a small number of canonical factors are needed to describe the functional relation of depth and texture with reasonable accuracy.

PhD Thesis Enhanced Multiple Output Regression based on Canonical Correlation Analysis with Applications in Computer Vision
Modeling the functional relation between high dimensional signals is a common task in computer vision. Just like natural perception systems are able to relate and combine impressions from different senses (speech, facial expression, gestures, haptics, etc.), simultaneous processing of signals of different sources and establishing a functional relation between these sources is an important issue...
متن کاملAdaptive Missing Texture Reconstruction Method Based on Kernel Canonical Correlation Analysis with a New Clustering Scheme
In this paper, a method for adaptive reconstruction of missing textures based on kernel canonical correlation analysis (CCA) with a new clustering scheme is presented. The proposed method estimates the correlation between two areas, which respectively correspond to a missing area and its neighboring area, from known parts within the target image and realizes reconstruction of the missing textur...
متن کاملColor image canonical correlation analysis for face feature extraction and recognition
Canonical correlation analysis (CCA) is a powerful statistical analysis technique, which can extract canonical correlated features from two data sets. However, it cannot be directly used for color images that are usually represented by three data sets, i.e., red, green and blue components. Current multi-set CCA (mCCA) methods, on the other hand, can only provide the iterative solutions, not the...
متن کاملA New High Resolution Depth Map Estimation System Using Stereo Vision and Kinect Depth Sensing
Depth map estimation is an active and long standing problem in image/video processing and computer vision. Conventional depth estimation algorithms which rely on stereo/multi-view vision or depth sensing devices alone are limited by complicated scenes or imperfections of the depth sensing devices. On the other hand, the depth maps obtained from the stereo/multi-view vision and depth sensing dev...
